1. Load and Torque

- Common gear materials include steel, cast iron, brass, and plastics. Selection should be based on operating environment, load conditions, and wear requirements. When necessary, surface heat treatment (such as carburizing and quenching) should be applied to improve wear resistance and strength.
3. Lubrication

4. Clearance and Tolerance
- The meshing clearance between gears must be controlled within a proper range. Excessively tight clearance causes wear and noise, while excessive clearance leads to unstable transmission and impact noise.

- Ensure the precision and rigidity of bearings and support structures to avoid excessive axial or radial clearance, which may cause misalignment or vibration during operation.
6. Alignment and Installation
- Gear assemblies must be properly aligned. Misalignment will increase wear, generate abnormal noise, and reduce efficiency.
7. Temperature Rise and Cooling
- Pay attention to gearbox cooling design to prevent excessive operating temperatures that may lead to lubricant failure or material degradation.
8. Noise and Vibration Monitoring<
- Abnormal noise or vibration is usually an early sign of failure. Regular inspection and maintenance are required to prevent further damage.
9. Sealing and Dust Protection
- Gear systems must have proper sealing to prevent contaminants from entering and lubricant leakage.
10. Lifespan Evaluation and Preventive Maintenance
- Based on operating conditions and usage frequency, establish maintenance schedules (such as gear wear inspection and lubricant condition monitoring) to extend equipment lifespan.
