Goang-Chyan gear products are measured in different ways, according to the gear category. Here we provide explanation for how parallel axis gears, such as spur gears, helical gears, inner gears and and worms are measured. If you are interested in ordering products from us, please feel free to contact us; we will be happy to provide more information.
1.Cross Tooth Thickness: For spur gears and bevel gears with small spiral angles. Use teeth thickness micrometer to cross over tooth Zm and measure the cross tooth thickness Sm. The measurement result equals to the addition of normal circular tooth thickness and normal pitch multiplying Zm-1.
Spur Gear |
Cross tooth thickness Sm = M (module) Cos a (pressure angle){p(Zm(No. of crossed teeth)-0.5)+ZInv a}+2c (transition coefficient)MSina .

Helical Gear |
Helical Gear Cross tooth thickness: Sm = Mn (normal pressure angle) Cos a{p(Zm-0.5)+ZInv as(axis pressure angle}+2c n Mn Sina n

2.Measurement of Overpin: For measurement of gears with high spiral angles and internal gears.
3.Cross 3 pins: For measurement of worms.
